Christie McRae

Associate Individual Counsellor

With over two decades of professional experience in social services, Christie (she/her) is committed to creating a therapeutic space where people feel understood, supported, and empowered. Her work is shaped by extensive training in counselling, education, and mental wellness, and by a belief in each person’s capacity for growth and self‑understanding.

Christie supports adults, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on neurodivergent clients and those navigating emotional regulation, overwhelm, and family‑system stress. Her approach is person‑centred, strengths‑based, and neurodiversity‑affirming. She draws from CBT, somatic practices, and mindfulness within a trauma‑informed framework, helping clients work with their nervous system in ways that feel safe and sustainable.

In working together, you can expect a calm, steady presence and a collaborative pace that honours your autonomy. Clients share that they appreciate feeling met with compassion for both their strengths and their struggles. Whether you’re moving through a major transition, seeking clarity in relationships, or working to understand your emotional patterns, we’ll explore your experiences with curiosity and care.

If you’re considering counselling, please reach out to connect and see whether this feels like the right fit for you.

Christie is currently pursuing her Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
