Eric Addleman

Individual & Couples Counsellor

Registered Clinical Counsellor (#18555)

Eric, MA, RCC, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with extensive experience supporting individuals and couples in achieving clarity, growth and emotional evolution. Eric helps clients find their voice and embrace their authenticity through a process of learning, healing and change through personal accountability and a deep sense of responsibility to self.

Eric integrates Relational Life Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Cognitive-Behavioural techniques to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals. His therapeutic approach is aimed at helping individuals and couples learn to appreciate themselves and their relationships in a way that allows them to become comfortable to explore their vulnerabilities, learn how to understand their behaviours better and embrace the full emotional spectrum of life from a place of personal and relational groundedness.

When working with couples, Eric helps them move towards an aligned truth in their relationship by making sure both partners' reality is honoured so that couples can make the best decisions about their relationship and get on the same page in overcoming their shared challenges; this often requires exploring why certain behaviours and dynamics exist and working with couples to help each other work through repressed trauma and learn how to minimize the effect of previously acquired behavioural adaptations that may no longer be helpful. His goal is to help individuals and couples embrace life and relationships in a full and open way.

In the past Eric has worked as a therapist in private practice, community services and regularly volunteers for a variety of crisis intervention centres. Eric is passionate about helping people navigate life with calm confidence and to learn to embrace their whole selves in a way that allows for the full spectrum of life to be optimized.

In his free time Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and their two elderly dogs, gardening, reading, going fishing and cooking meals for his family.
