DBT Based Skills Group


DBT Based Skills group is a chance to learn some of the fundamental DBT skills from each of the modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT Based Skills Group (Virtual – Open to Adults Across BC)

This DBT-based skills group offers the opportunity to learn and practice foundational skills from all four Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) modules: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Unlike comprehensive DBT programs, this group does not require a 6-month commitment, making it a flexible way to build practical coping tools and strengthen your emotional well-being.

Participants will learn skills to:

  • Emotion Regulation- Reduce intense emotional ups and downs

  • Distress Tolerance- Manage stress and difficult emotions more effectively, get through a crisis without making it worse.

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness- Communicate wants & needs effectively, set boundaries with greater confidence

  • Mindfulness- Stay more present and grounded in daily life

  • Build a personalized toolbox of coping strategies

This group may be helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, emotion dysregulation, borderline personality disorder (or related traits), relationship difficulties, and other emotional or behavioural challenges.

Sessions are offered virtually, allowing adults from anywhere in British Columbia to participate from the comfort of their own home.

Cost: $100 per group session- check with your insurance if group counselling facilitated by a Registered Clinical Counsellor is eligible for reimbursement
